Heaton Park Manchester was purchased by the Manchester Corporation in 1902. It had previously belonged to the 5th Earl of Wilton who sold it on the condition that Heaton Park Manchester would remain in use as a space for the recreation and enjoyment of the general public; a priority which has lasted to this day.
From the animal centre to the boating lake, 18-hole Championship Golf Course and football pitches, Heaton Park Manchester has something for everyone. In addition to those more permanent entertainment and event fixtures, Heaton Park Manchester is also the location of numerous concerts, plays, funfairs and more every year. Major bands such as Oasis and Travis have featured on the Heaton Park schedule in the past.
Heaton Park Manchester is a Grade II listed Park.
